Description

The VSA™-1214 and VSA-1215 hardware modules attach firmly to Palm TX handheld computers to form compact, extremely portable instruments. The Palm TX supplies the computing power and 100 MB of data storage, while the Datastick® VSA hardware module supplies the sensor power and interface. SD (Secure Digital) memory cards — up to 2 GB each — provide virtually unlimited auxiliary storage.

The VSA hardware modules each have a standard BNC connector and a very low-noise input that accommodates and powers almost any ICP®-type piezoelectric accelerometer. In addition, the VSA-1215 can accommodate ICP-type velocity sensors.

Power

The VSA modules have internal rechargeable Li-ion batteries and advanced power management capabilities that typically stretch the VSA-1214 to four hours between recharges on an average duty cycle (you can recharge on your lunch break) and the VSA-1215 can go a full shift or longer.

An optional 4800 mA/h rechargeable external battery pack is available if you need more power, and it gives you the added benefit of powering or recharging BOTH the VSA module and the Palm TX handheld computer.
